Bespoke, Compliant and Expertly Engineered Fuel Tank Manufacture

For over 50 years, OTS Group has designed and manufactured bunded steel fuel tanks for clients in the UK and Europe.

From commercial refuelling and marine operations to data centres and emergency power systems, our fuel tank manufacturing expertise enables us to create tanks that meet the precise needs of each project safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with UK standards.

Our manufacturing facility in Gloucestershire is home to a highly skilled team of fabricators, welders, and engineers who work with the latest equipment to deliver fuel tanks and fuel storage systems of exceptional quality and durability.

Fuel tank

At OTS, we don’t just build tanks, we engineer complete storage solutions.

Each project begins with a consultation to understand your requirements, fuel type, site conditions, and operational demands. Our in-house design team then produces bespoke CAD drawings and fabrication plans to achieve optimal performance, safety, and longevity.

All tanks are manufactured under ISO 9001 quality systems and certified to OFS T200, BS 799-5:2010, and CIRIA C736 guidelines.

Fuel Tank Design and Engineering

Our manufacturing capabilities include:

OTS manufactures a wide range of above-ground steel fuel tanks for different environments and applications. Each tank is custom-built to specification, with options for shape, size, capacity, access, and integration.

Types of Fuel Tanks we Manufacture

Fuel Tank Manufacturing FAQs

What sizes of fuel tanks can OTS manufacture?

We manufacture tanks from small-capacity units under 5,000 litres to large-scale systems exceeding 100,000 litres. Each is custom-built to your required footprint, volume, and site conditions.

How long does it take to manufacture a fuel tank?

Lead times depend on tank size, specification, and current production schedules. Standard tanks can often be completed within 8 weeks, while complex or bespoke projects may take longer. Our team will confirm timeframes at quotation stage.

Can you help with design approval or compliance documentation for planning?

Yes. OTS can supply full design drawings, structural calculations, and compliance documentation to support planning or regulatory approval processes before manufacture begins.

Do you offer delivery and installation outside the UK?

Yes. While most of our work is UK-based, we can export completed tanks and systems to Europe and beyond. All tanks are designed and tested to UK and EU standards, ensuring full international compliance.

Are OTS tanks compatible with HVO and other alternative fuels?

Yes. All tanks can be configured for HVO, GTL, and other renewable fuels using compatible materials, coatings, and seals to prevent degradation and ensure long-term reliability.

What is the lifespan of an OTS manufactured tank?

With correct installation and planned maintenance, our bunded steel fuel tanks typically have a design life expectancy of 20-30 years. Many clients extend lifespan further through regular PPM and protective re-coating.

Can OTS manufacture multi-compartment or twin-fuel tanks?

Yes. We regularly design and build dual or multi-compartment systems to store different fuel types safely within a single bunded structure, complete with separate fill and dispensing systems.
